After you’ve retired, you may be eligible for Medicare and/or Social Security benefits. Learn more on the Social Security website. You may also have the option of enrolling in COBRA coverage or your spouse’s benefits. Ask your spouse’s employer for their enrollment process and deadline.
- Review the company's Benefit's Termination Letter.
- If losing coverage in a health plan, look to receive a COBRA packet from Tri-Ad within 2 weeks after termination.
- Schedule an appointment to speak to a financial advisor about your retirement account investments and other financial questions.
- Supplemental life insurance ends on the termination date. Convert supplemental life insurance to individual policy, if desired, once you receive a conversion notification from Unum.
- All accrued, unused PTO will be paid in your last paycheck in accordance with the applicable company policy.
- Continue MetLife Legal plan through the portability option, if desired.
- Convert Pet Insurance to an individual policy by completing a Continuation of Coverage form sent to you from MetLife after termination.
- You have 90 days to submit any claims for reimbursement from your Health Care or Limited Purpose Flexible Spending Account (FSA) through Tri-Ad that were incurred up to your last day of employment.
- Any funds in a Health Savings Account will remain yours.
- OC only: Separation of employment or a termination event with a future date entered into Workday before a tuition reimbursement is processed will be cancelled in accordance with the Education Reimbursement Policy.
- Short-Term Disability and Long-Term disability coverage with Unum ends on termination date.
- OC only: Benefit-eligible associates not enrolled in a medical plan who are participating in CHOC Fit should reach out to Personify Health to redeem any unused Rewards Cash points within 30 days of termination.
